Shepherds Ground is a rural village development of about 29 residences nestled on a scenic 10 acre area of a 277 acre farm. This innovative project seeks to establish a working model of community living that is affordable, sustainable, and cultivates a strong sense of community as well as being based on best practice ecological and biodynamic/organic principles It’s goals are to reconnect people, agriculture and nature.
Located within 15 minutes of the City of Maitland, NSW, the master plan for Shepherds Ground has been developed by renowned Melbourne architect Greg Burgess. Wherever possible hemp lime construction will be incorporated for its insulative benefits. The hemp will be grown and processed nearby in Dungog.
