The frame for this sub-tropical home had already been constructed when the owner builders found out about hemp building materials. As the beautiful hardwood timber featured in the build was harvested from the site, they wanted to leave much of the frame exposed internally.

The majority of the internal walls have a lime rendered finish but because of the variations in the way the timber has been used, each room feels different.

For most of the year the glass doors of the living areas are opened up for sunny breakfasts on a semi-enclosed verandah that runs the length of the home. Near the kitchen a spacious thick-walled, walk-in pantry/cool room has pride of place
